Message from the Principal
Here at Makuhari Junior and Senior High School, we seek to nurture 21st century students that embody our school motto “Jicho Jiko,” translated as “Self-Awareness and Self-Thinking.” We encourage students to go beyond simply memorizing and regurgitating facts so as to thoughtfully examine and reflect on the world around them. It is true that our lives today have been made easier by developments in science and technology, however, our world is plagued by many difficult problems such as global warming, natural disasters, and diseases that need our attention. This complicated interaction forces us to look to a future where we can find some balance. These times call for an individual who can think critically and find solutions to the problems in our world. Through our curriculum focusing on the needs of respective age groups, we guide our students to establish an identity as a global citizen so that they firmly step out into the world and make a difference.
On behalf of the staff and students of Makuhari Junior and Senior High School, I wholeheartedly welcome you to our Jicho Jiko community preparing analytical and ethical leaders for the world.
